From "The Antwerp Bee-...", Thursday June 11, 1936...FORMER ANTWERP RESIDENT Mrs. Frances Gordon Lewis, formerly of this community, died at her home in Defiance. The Defiance Crescent-News in its issue June 2nd had the following: 'Coroner Fred W. Watkins Monday returned a verdict that Mrs. Frances Lewis, 65, died of the effects of carbon monoxide gas from a kerosene cook stove in the kitchen of her home here. Funeral services were held Tuesday inthe Mansfield funeral home.' Mr and Mrs C.E. Hughes, Mrs. Goff Stiles and Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Gordon of Antwerp attended the funeral."

From Smith's obit files: Frederick Shaw and wife, called here by the death of the latter's sister, Mrs. V. V. Miller, of Sherwood, departed for their home at Springfield, Mo, Monday. Mrs. V. V. Miller of Sherwood, better known to old time residents in this vicinity as Caroline Gordon, died at the Van Wert hospital Wednesday afternoon after a lingering illness extending over a period of two years. Her affliction was cancer. Her body was taken to her home at Sherwood, where funeral services were held Sunday, Rev. Fitz officiating. Interment in Sherwood cemetary.

In 1875, began attending medical lectures in Cincinnati. Graduated from Fort Wayne College of Medicine and Bush Medical College in 1880. General practice and specialized in surgery and fevers. Licensed pharmacist. Owned drugstore in Latty, Ohio. County coroner, pension examiner. Member IOOF and K. of P. in Scott, Ohio. This from "History of Paulding County--Budd".
Dr. Charles W. Gordon, the leading physician and surgeon of Latty, Ohio, and member of the oldest and best known families of Paulding County, was born in Crane Township, Paulding county, February 15,1852. He is the son of William Gordon, who was born in Orange County, New York,and came to Paulding County in 1824 when almost the entire county was a primeval forest inhabited by savage Indians and wild beasts. He has the distinction of being the first treasurer of this county. Gordon Creek recieved its name from the Gordon family. He died in Crant township in 1850....The mother of C.W. Gordon and Sarah Moore Gordon who was born in Hampton County in 1808 and came to Paulding County in 1835 and died in Paulding County in 1880. The subject of this sketch was reared upoon a pioneer farm in Crane township, educated in the county schools and at Berea (?) Ohio, commenced teaching at the age of 17 years and began attending medical lectures in Cincinnati in 1875 and graduated from Ft. Wayne College of Medicine in 1877 and Rush Medical College in 1880. He had a general practice and makes a specialty of fevers and surgery. He is a licensed pharmacist and owns the only drug store in Latty, Ohio,whre he carries a complete line of fresh drugs and druggist sundries. He is at present county coroner and has filled the position of pension examiner. "Gordon. Dr. Charles Wesley Gordon, aged 69, 419 Fairmont Place, died at 10:40 o'clock this morning of complications. He had practiced here for 18 years, coming from Latty, O.
