"Andrew Sandowich an 87 year old Naugatuck resident and husband to the late Rosalie Sandowich, entered into eternal rest Aug. 29 at Yale N.H. Hospital after a two week battle with Covid 19. He was the son of the late Samuel and Mary Sandowich. Andrew graduated from Ansonia’s Pine High School. He proudly served in the Navy on the U.S.S. English. He would go on to retire from Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford after 42 years. He coached Little League baseball, as well as the church Softball team. He loved watching the UCONN Girls Basketball games, as well as Boston Red Sox games with David & Jonathan. He loved Marisol’s baking sweets and going out to lunch with Gary & Glen to Lenny & Joe's Fishtail and for breakfast with Linda. He loved vacationing with his family at Hampton Beach New Hampshire as well as Disney World. He served the LORD as Sunday School Superintendent, in the Church Bus Ministry and as a Deacon. He was a member of The Grace Baptist Church in Milford, where he was an avid singer in the church choir. Andrew was predeceased by his sister Helen Loman and brothers Paul & Pete Sandowich. Andrew was a devoted father, father-in-law and grandfather; he loved spending time with his family. He was the beloved father of Linda Watrous (David) of Derby, and Gary & Glen Sandowich, both of Naugatuck. He cherished his grandchildren Jonathan Watrous and Marisol Watrous of Derby as well as his faithful dog Trevor. Survivors also include sister-in-law Bev Dilly and other sisters-in-law, nieces & nephews. Memorial services will be held on Saturday Sept. 11 at The Grace Baptist Church in Milford at 11:00 a.m. where military honors will be rendered. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia has been privileged with the arrangements."--jenkinskingfh.com

"KAITZ, Alexander B. Alexander B. Kaitz, of South Windsor, formerly of Seymour, beloved husband of Katherine (Kalina) Carignan Kaitz, passed away Friday (December 24, 2004). He was born in Ansonia on April 3, 1923 son of the late Sidor Kaitz and Taci (Borasevich) Kaitz and was a South Windsor resident for over 30 years. He was a navy veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theater, and was a member of the Rockville Lodge Of Elks #1359. He was an inspector for the CT Motor Vehicle Dept. for over 20 years, an officer with the Seymour Police Dept., security officer at Foxwood Resort Casino, and the owner of A&A Realty and Modular Homes. Alexander enjoyed watching the UCONN women and UCONN men's basketball teams. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Alwyn Kaitz of Seymour; daughters, Darleen Delvy and her husband, Ronald of Beacon Falls, Donna Milone and her husband, Douglas Milone, Sr. of Seymour; his brothers, Peter Katz and Wasil Katz of Shelton; his sisters, Eva Thomas and her husband, Andrew of Milford, Mary Kraut of Shelton, Julia Demanchyk of Cape Coral, FL, Helen Navowski and her husband, Frank of Shelton; his grandchildren, Donald Anderson, Diane Delvy, Lisa Belko and her husband, Eric, Douglas Milone, Jr. and his wife, Sarah, Kevin Kaitz, Alex Kaitz, and triplets, Eric, Jacob, and Christopher Belko; many nieces; nephews; grand nieces; and grand nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Paul and his wife, Olga. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Union Congregational Church, Rockville. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Rockville. Friends may call at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Judes Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
