"ALBERT M. DOWNS -- Albert Milton Downs, son of William and Margaret Ashlock Downs, was born on a homestead farm in Gill Township, Clay County, Kans., Feb 28, 1875. He died at his home in Talmage, Feb 23, 1959, at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 23 days..
April 4, 1900, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Sigler of the Industry community. Two sons were born to his union.
His entire life was spent in the Industry and Talmage communities. Since 1945, he and his wife had lived in the town of Talmage. He was a member of the Buckeye Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Downs of t he home; two sons, Francis E. Downs of Abilene and Jesse C. Downs of Salem, Ore.; two sisters, Mrs. George Wood of Clay Center and Mrs. Thomas Whittenburg of Eckley, Colo.; three grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and other relatives.s
He was p receded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held at the Danner Funeral Home in Abilene, Wednesday, Feb 25, with the Rev. Earl Franz of the Church of Brethren officiating.
Music was by a quartet which sang. "Rock of Ages" and "Abide with Me."
Burial was in the Greenridge Cemetery near Industry. Pall bearers were John Lahr, John Wolf, Kenneth Ward, Bert Ray, Curtis Carver and Earl Downs."

"Barbel Ritter Hertzel was born April 26, 1721 in Reihen, Baden, Germany. Barbel Ritter, age about 11, emigrated Sep 1732 from The Palatinate with other members of her family. In America she was called "Barbara". In 1743 she was married to Hans Jacob Hertzel in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. They were to have 11 children. On
December 07, 1807 in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, she died and was buried in the Dryland Church Cemetery."--Find-a-grave

"Mrs. Eliza Zinn, of Newport, died on Wednesday, aged 74 years. She suffered for years with inflammatory rheumatism. Mrs. Zinn was the widow of George Zinn, and wa the mother of seven children, two of whom died in youth. Thhose surviving are John Zinn, of Gettysburg; Geroge W.
