"Mrs. Margaret Gordon, an old and respected resident of the town of Forestburg, died at her home at Oakland Station, at one o'clock on Thursday afternoon, after a long illness. She was aged 85 years. She was born at Huguenot, and was the daughter of Levi and Maria Van Inwegen Cuddeback. She was the widow of Samuel Gordon, whose death occurred in 1895. Mrs. Gordon was a member of the Oakland M. E. Church and was a fine Christian woman. She was a loving mother and a kind neighbor. Her many acts of kindness in times of sickness and need made her highly esteemed in the neighborhood. Those who survive her are one brother, Levi Cuddeback, of Port Jervis; one sister, Mrs. George Brandon, of Catskill, N.Y.; three sons and three daughters, Levi Gordon, of Oakland; Charles Gordon, of Cuddebackville; William Gordon of Guilford, N.Y.; Mrs. Martha Thompson, of Newburgh; Mrs. Julia Moore, of Fishkill, N.Y., and Mrs. Maria Griswell, of Tonorto [sic], Canada; 14 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. The funeral was held at the home at Oakland on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with interment in the Cuddebackville Cemetery. "--21 Oct 1913, The Orange County ( NY) Times-Press

"Mamie Gertrude Hawker, Emmette Leebrick Wed -- Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Hawker of Keeling announce the marriage of their daughter, Mamie Gertrude, to Mr. Emmett Callahan Leebrick, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Leebrick of Lynchburg. The ring ceremony was performed in Lynchburg on Saturday October 10, by the Rev. H. M. Fugate, D.D., pastor of the College Hill Baptist Church. "Mangum Man Killed In Automobile Crash. MANGUM, Okla., May 16--Funeral arrangements were incomplete here Friday night for Jack Harris, 26, who wasl killed early Friday morning when his automobile crashed into a bridge abutment on a country road northeast of Oklahoma City. Harris was driving alone in a driving rain storm. He was found dead in his car at 5 a.m. Friday. He was enroute to Miami, Okla., at the time of the accident.
Survivors include his widow; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Harris of Mangum; a brother, Ripley Harris, and a sister, Mrs. Mildred Wright, also of Mangum.

"SUIT AGAINST TRUCK OWNER -- Death of Seven-Year-Old Girl Is Cause of Action for $10,000 Award. -- Suit for $10,000 was brought in common pleas court against Amos V. Robinett, because of the death May 26, 1918 of Helen A. Smith, through being struck by an auto truck, said to be the property of Robinette, on Hickory street. The petition says that on that day Helen Smith, aged 7, was crossing Hickory street on her way to the school when she was struck by an auto truck, belonging to the defendant, sustaining injuriew which caused her death several hours later.
Negligence on the part of the driver is charged in the petition. In behalf of the parents of the child, Finn acting as administrator of the estate, seeks judgment of $10,000 with all costs of the case assessed aginst Robinett."--2 Jul 1918, The Dayton (OH) Herald
