"Sachs-Hartzell Wedding. Gettysburg, Sept 29 -- The lawn at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jese T. Hartzell, near town, was the scene of an unusually pretty wedding when their daughter, Miss Nora O. Hartzell was married to Luther I. Sachs, of Waynesboro. The bride wore a gown of cream messaline trimmed with lace. She carried bride's roses. Rev. Joseph B. Baker performed the ceremony.
After an informal reception and luncheon, Mr. and Mrs. Sachs left for Waynesboro, where they will make their home. Mr. Sachs being engaged with his father, Henry Sachs, in contracting. "HARTZELL-BROWN. Miss Quindaro Hartzell and Mr. Bert Brown were married Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Hartzell, 1816 Redden avenue. The Rev. O.L. Cook, of the First Christian church, performed the ceremony.
The bride wore a gown of white silk net, with white satin trimmings. She wore a veil and carried white roses. Her two nieces carried the ring in a basket of roses. Mrs. Roy McCall acted as matron of honor, and the bridesmaids were her sisters, Mrs. Hazel Blake and Miss Mary Hartzell. They carried pink and white rose buds.
The bride is known in local high school circles. Mr. Brown is a graduate of the Perry High school. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Brown, of Lawrence. he is now employed with the Seymour Packing company, and he and his bride will make their home in Topeka."--13 Jun 1917, The Topeka (KS) Daily Capital

"Tylersport Man Commits Suicide -- Seized with an attack of melancholia, Thomas Hartzell, aged 42 years, committed suicide by shooting, at his home in Tylersport, on Friday morning.
He is survived by a wife and three children, the oldest, a daughter, being 15 years old. Deceased's mother ended her life by drowning a number of years ago.
Hartzell was employed by A.R. Cressman's Sons at Tylersport, and several years ago by the same firm mat Sellersville. While employed at the latter place he was seized with a fit of Melancholia, to which he was at time subject and wandered away in a dazed condition."--1 Dec 1920, The (Perkasie PA) Central News

"Samuel R. Hartzell. At 6:30 o'clock Monday morning Samuel R. Hartzell, ex-supervisor of Logan township, died of paralysis at the home of his son, Edward Hartzell, Harrison avenue and South street, East End, with whom he resided. He had been in the city on Saturday afternoon on business, and while on his way home about 3 o'clock, he was stricken with a stroke at Third avenue and Fourth street. He fell to the sidewalk in an unconscious condition and as soon as possible he was removed to his home, where he lingered until the hour mentioned above, when he passed peacefully away. Deceased was born in Blair county on May 4, 1834, had resided in the vicinity of the city all his life, and was an attendant at the Third Presbyterian church. He was held in high esteem by all who knew him and is survived by the following children, his wife having preceded him to the grave two years ago: J. Edward, W. Vincent, Mrs. Robert Irwin, Mrs. Charles Haupt, Mrs. William Stevens and Mrs.s Charles Pentz, all of Altoona, and Mrs. Blanche White of Allegheny. He is also survived by one brother, Conrad Hartzell, of St. Joseph, Mo., and one sister, Mrs. Katherine Emfield, of Juniata. The funeral will take place at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, services to be conducted at the house. Interment in Greenwood cemetery."--28 Feb 1905, Altoona (PA) Tribune

"Alfred Erlougher born December 19, 1902 in Indiana, and died February 2, 1978 in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota.
He was the son of Reverend Frank Erlougher and Susan M. Trees and the Grand-son of John Simmons Trees and Sarah Alice Curlee Trees and Dr. John M. Erlougher and Mary Dorthea Leebrick Erlougher.
He married Margaret McErlane of Hennepin County, Minnesota.
They had 2 daughters Mary K. and Susan Erlougher.
He was the brother of Edwin Goodsell Erlougher 1898-1964, Paul F. Erlougher 1901-1982, Alice M. Erlougher DeGroff 1904-1952, Suzanne Erlougher Newhall 1918-1980
He served SK1 US NAVY WORLD WAR II Service Start Date: March 11, 1944 to 5 Nov 1945."--Find-a-grave
