"Manchester Selectman Willwerth -- MANCHESTER -- Manchester Selectman Walter C. Willwerth Jr., 55, of 4 A-land st., died Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Willwerth was a Federal employee for 30 years. In recent years he was an appraiser for the Federal Housing and Urban Development agency.
Mr. Willwerth served two one-year terms on the Manchester Board of Selectmen and was also a member of the Manchester Planning Board and on several town building commissions.
He was born in Somerville and had been a resident of Manchester for more than 20 years.
He served in the Army in World War II. He was a member of the Amaral-Baily American Legion Post in Manchester, the Manchester Club and the Masconomo Council, Knights of Columbus.
He leaves his wife, Eleanor (Doolin) Willwerth; eight sons, Walter of Plainville, N.J.; Michael of Danvers, Patrick, David, Peter, Robert, Joseph and Thomas, all of Manchester, and six daughters, Gretchen Wood of Manchester, Mary Burtt of Hollycrest Heights, Md., and Elizabeth, Sarah Katherine and Margaret all of Manchester.
He also leaves four brothers, Edward of Amesbury, Charles of Arlington Heights, Ill., Robert of Colchester, Conn., and Joseph Willwerth of Melrose, and two sisters, Sarah Donovan and Natalie Willwerth, both of Arden Md.
His funeral will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Manchester. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Manchester."--22 Jan 1974, The Boston (MA) Globe

"Death of Mrs. Maria Musser. Mrs. Maria Musser, widow of Benjamin Musser, late of Salunga, died on Wednesday at her home, No. 145 North Plum street, this city, from a complication of diseases, in her seventy-fourth year. She was a member of the Old Mennonite Church. The surviving children are Martin, of Salunga; Mrs. Joseph Cassel, Mt. Joy; Mrs. Abram Cassel, near Lancaster Junction, and Mary, at home. "Central Illinois Deaths -- Mrs. Elizabeth Hoffman --TREMONT -- Mrs. Elizabeth Hoffman, 83, died at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday at the home of her son, Charles, with whom she had made her home the last year. She had been in failing health for several years. The body was removed to the Wilkey funeral home and will be taken to the Hoffman home at 11 a.m. Wednesday where friends may call.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Tremont Baptist church, with the Rev. Fred Martin officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery.
She was born in Elm Grove township, July 29, 1858, daughter of George and Christina Liddeki Ritthaler. Her marriage to Philip Hoffman took place in Pekin on July 25, 1878. He preceded her in death a number of years ago.
Surviving are one son, Charles W. Hoffman; a sister, Mrs. Frances Kalb, Tremont; and a brother, Charles Ritthaler of Morton. Ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive. "Michael G. MacDonald of Owego -- Michael G. MacDonald, 74, of Owego, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Michael was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Catherine Grant MacDonald; and son, Michael MacDonald. Michael is survived by his children, Deborah (Michael) Murray of Syracuse, Scott (Jennifer) MacDonald of Eugene, OR, Dale (Diane) MacDonald of Raleigh, NC, Chris MacDonald of Florida and Susan (Ben) Fassett of Binghamton; sisters, Margaret Fearnley of Norwood, MA, and Katherine (Tom) Cahill of Canton, MA; ten grandchildren. Michael retired from IBM Owego after 34 years, was the 2nd assistant chief for the Apalachin Fire Department with over 30 years of volunteer service, enjoyed working for State Line Auto Auction for over 17 years and loved NASCAR and deep sea fishing.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 12:00 PM at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego with Rev. William Moorby officiating.
