"ANOTHER PIONEER GONE -- Harrison Staggs, Who Settled Here in 1857, Passes Away. -- Harrison Staggs of Valencia, an old Kansas pioneer and a former owner of what is now a part of Vinewood park, passed away Thursday after a lingering illness. He was 75 years old. he moved to his old farm, now included in Vinewood park, in 1857 and lived there until 1886. Then he moved twelve miles west of Topeka on the David Shull farm near Valencia and has resided there since.
At the age of 16 years, he joined the Christian church and has been a member ever since. The funeral services were held this morning at Plymouth church."--1 Aug 1903, The Topeka (KS) Daily Herald

"DEATH OF A PIONEER.--Mrs. Mahala McCallister, who died near Silver Creek falls Sept. 26th, was a pioneer woman of Oregon, having crossed the plains to Oregon in 1853, coming by ox team and first locating in Linn county. She came to Marion in 1871. She was a distant relative of Daniel Boone, of Kentucky. She was 88 years of age."--5 Oct 1890, (Salem, OR) Statesman Journal.

"Mrs. Annie Holt Of Blountstown Taken By Death. BLOUNTSTOWN --Mrs. Annie Laura Holt, 57, died last night in an Albany, Ga., hospital. Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced by the Musgrove Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hold is survived by her husband, Jim Hold, three sons, James, Burl and Carlton Hold of Okeechobee; one daughter, Mrs. Oliver Massey of Sylvester, Ga.; three brothers, John, Busby and Silas Bailey of Blountstown; three sisters, Mrs. Evie Hiers of Marianna, Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Mattie Burge of Blountstown; and four grandchildren."--10 Jun 1958, Tallahassee (FL) Democrat

"MRS. BOBBIE A. SALLAS -- Mrs. Bobbie Alice Sallas, 75, of Dothan Rt. 3 died at her home last night after a long illness. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Ardilla Baptist Church with the Rev. Homer Davis and the Rev. W. G. Dean officiating. Burial in Memphis Cemetery will be directed by Johnson Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at the residence until the funeral.
A native of Coffee County, Mrs. Sallas had resided in Houston County since 1915. Surviving are her husband, S. H. Sallas of Dothan Rt. 3; four daughters,s Mrs. Johnnie McCord of Dothan Rt. 3, Mrs. Ezel Stringer of Ashford Rt. 1, Mrs. Exie Miller of Mobile and Mrs. Maudie Whisnant of Florala; four sons, H. C. Sallas of Dothan Rt. 1, D. H. Sallas of Dothan Rt. 3, Horace Salas of Dothan Rt. 3, and Shelby Sallas of Panama City; four sisters, Mrs. John Adams of Florala, Mrs. Dessie McCord of Cottonwood, Mrs. Homer Eldridge of Blakely and Mrs. James King of Dothan Rt. 4; three brothers, Geroge Hall of Opp, L. "Anneken Margaretha OpDenGraeff was born in 1683 in Crefeld, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, the daughter of Abraham & Catharina Trintje 'Jansen' OpDenGraeff. (Crefeld was under the jurisdiction of the Dutch Republic at this time.)

Anneken & her parents and siblings boarded the ship "Concord", carrying 13 families (inc. 3 OpDen Graff bros. & fams.) from Krefeld, North-Rhine Westphalia, set sail on 6 Jul 1683 from Rotterdam to London, departing London on 24 Jul 1683 & landed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Colonial America on 6 Oct 1683.

Anneken married Herman 'Harmond' InDenHoffen (DeHaven) on 6 Feb 1711 in the Presbyterian Church, Whitmarsh, Montgomery, Pennsylvania, Colonial America. According to the Dutch Reformed Church of Bensalem, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, the Rev. Van Vlerq performed the ceremony. Harmond & Anneken had 10 children:

Hermond & his brother Gerhart built a double house about 1723 on 440 acres of land they bought near Skippack. Shortly after, Gerhart kept the property in Skippack while Hermond moved to Lower Providence.

Anneken died in 1760 in Skippack, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania and was buried in Lower Skippack Mennonite Cemetery."--Find-a-grave
