"Another Pioneer Gone. -- Henry B. Ferguson, a pioneer of Paulding county, died at his home in Antwerp last Thursday, Jun 21st, after a short illness. He was born Sept 17, 1835, in Wyoming county and came to Paulding county in.
Mr. Ferguson enlisted in Co. G., 14th O.V. l., April 13, 1861. Served as corporal in this service and was discharged August 1861. He again entered Co. G., 14th O.V.I. August 26th, 1861 and was elected 2nd lieutenant, where he served until the expiration of term of service, September 13, 1864, making three years and five months.
The W.H. Doering Post G.A.R. had charge of the funeral services which were held at the Presbyterian church at Antwerp last Sunday morning at 10:30 o'clock.
He leaves a wife and a large number of friends to mourn for him.

"Cornelius Gordon died at Cuddebackville, Saturday night, of kidney disease.
He leaves a wife and the following children: Stoddard and Alfred, of Cuddebackville; Ira, a clerk in the Surgeon General's office at Washington, D. "Mrs. Jane Decker Gordon, wife of George Gumaer Gordon, died at her home in Cuddebackville, on Friday evening after a long illness. Her age was 80 years.
She was a daughter of a soldier of the American Revolution, and therefore a daughter of the Revolution. Her parents were Samuel and Lannah Decker, who spent their entire life in the Neversink Valley. Mr. Decker was a soldier in the Revolution and the war of 1812, and participated in some of the early Indian affrays in this section. He attained a great age and died three years after Mrs. Gordon was born. At the time of her death she was nearly 80 years old. She was the youngest of six children.
Deceased was born at Huguenot, Feb. 12, 1823, and spent all her days in that section."--22 Jan 1904, Monticello (NY) Republican Watchman

"Stoddard Gordon of Cuddebackville died yesterday at Deerpark Sanitarium. He was born in Cuddebackville, February twenty-second, 1860, a son of Cornelius and Marie Griffin Gordon. On October thirty-first, 1906, he married Miss Martha Case in Cuddebackville. The Rev. W. W. Whitney performed the ceremony. Mr. Gordon had been a resident of this vicinity during his entire life and attended the Dutch Reformed Church of Cuddebackville. He was town superintendent of highways eleven years and a welfare officer [unreadable] times.
Surviving are his wife, three children, Clifford R., Annette M. and J. Irving, all at home; one brother, Job, of Brooklyn, and one sister, Mrs. Myra Westbrook of Washington, D. C.
Funeral services will be held at the home Friday afternoon at two o'clock with the Rev. Robert Bonnyman officiating. Interment in the family plot in Cuddebackville."--24 Nov 1931, Middletown (NY) Times Herald

"EDGAR M. GORDON, of the hardware firm of Malven & Gordon, of Port Jervis, N. Y., was born December 22, 1850, at Cuddebackville, Orange County, N. Y. He obtained his early education at the district school in his locality and at Port Clinton, N. Y. He started at an early age as clerk in the canal store at Neversink Locks, where he remained for three years. He then served two years at the same place as telegraph operator. September 1, 1869, he came to Port Jervis, and clerked for St. John & Malven. About 1875 he purchased a half interest in the hardware store of George Malven. Mr. Gordon was married to Miss Ann Amelia Malven, daughter of George Malven, in June, 1877. Three children were born to this union, George M., Wilbur and Samuel, all residing at home. Mr. Gordon is a republican and in 1900 was elected supervisor of census of his congressional district. He is a member of the Mt. William Lodge, K. of P., is identified with the Reformed Dutch Church and is superintendent of the Sunday-school."--History of Orange County New York, Russel Headley, ed. 1909
"Edgar M. Gordon, for a number of years a member of the firm Gordon & Malven, of this city, died suddenly at his home in this city about 11:30 Saturday morning, of apoplexy. Mr. Gordon had been in feeble health for the past three years, and during that time had suffered two strokes of apoplexy.
He was preparing to attend the dinner of the Minisink Valley Historical Society at the Hotel Mitchell in this city, at noon Saturday, and about 11:15 that morning went to his bedroom.
Soon after, his wife heard a peculiar sound from the room, and entering, she found him seated in a chair, gasping. He died within a few minutes.
He is survived by his wife and three sons, George M., of New Mexico, Wilbur, at home, and Lieutenant Samuel Gordon, stationed with the regular army at Honolulu."--24 Feb 1913, Middletown (NY) Daily Times-Press
