"Ida Leora Beeson was born in Washington County, Kansas on Dec. 15, 1884, and passed away at the Cheyenne County Hospital at St. Francis on Feb. 1, 1965 at the age of 80 years, 1 month and 16 days. She was the daughter of Ann and Alva Beeson. She came to Rawlins County as a girl. On April 20, 1902, she was married to Charles E. Howard, who preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1964. To this union were born six children, John and Charlie of McDonald, Verne Climer of Bolivar, Mo., Glenn of Goodland, Vivian Opell of Washington, Ind., and Vida Gillispie of Alliance, Nebr. She leaves 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Robert and Omar Beeson of McDonald, Fred Beeson of Scott City, and one sister, Julia Jackson of New Castle, Colo.
Funeral services were held on Feb. 2nd from the Federated Church with Rev. C. L. Swihart officiating. Interment in Grace cemetery of McDonald."--11 Feb 1965, The (Atwood, KS) Citizen Patriot

"Mrs. Maria Bradley Mays. Mrs. Maria Bradley Mays, wife of the late Dr. Nelson Mays, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ellen Wilson, of Richmond, internment taking place at the Lancaster Cemetery on April 16th. Mrs. Mays was almost seventy-eight years of age, having been born on May 20, 1845. During the Civil War, in 1863, she was married to Captain Wolford, a brother of Gen. Frank Wolford. A daughter of this union, Mrs. Marion Waite, lives in Alexandria, Va. Her second marriage was to Dr. Nelson Mays, of Jessamine (Ky) March 21, 1876. To this union, four children were born, three of whom are living, Robert Mays, Washington, DC, Will Mays and Mrs. Ellen Wilson, both of Richmond Ky. Her original home was Somerset, but much of her life was spent in Lancaster where her devotion to her friends, her community, and her church are well known. She was a sister of the late Senator Bradley. She was a woman of large culture and accomplishments. As such she was active in the social activities of the town, devoted to the interest of the community and faithful in her religious life. She was a member of the Christian church, one of true life and strong faith. For eight years she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Ellen Wilson, of Richmond, whose attentive care and devotion has made these declining years happy and comfortable ones. During part of this time her husband with her. Ripe in years and faith, she leaves a rich heritage to those she loved in the memory of the life she lived.

"STEELMAN, Mercedes, 81, of Plant City,l passed away June 27, 2007. She was a long time resident of the Tampa Bay, and a member of East Thonotosassa Baptist Church.
Mercedes was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 16 years, James Steelman, and her daughter, Barbara Romberger. Mercedes is survived by her son, George Wood and wife Barbara; grandchildren, Lisa Barnes, Kim Barnes, Steven Wood, Shari Romberger, Kenny Romberger, and Lori Romberger; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers; and four sisters. A visitation will take place 3-5 p.m. Sunday July 1, 2007, followed by a service at 10 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2007, at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, Brandon. "Mary Louise Hitchcock Cutchin Cook, passed away on December 1, 1989, at Bay Medical Center in Panama City, FL, at the age of 84.
Mary Louise was the oldest child of Mansfield "Mancy" and Eva Gertrude (Barber) Hitchcock. She was a sister to Jimmy, Julian, Ed, Alton, Herman, Harry, Ruby Lee, Addie Ruth, Gladys and Allean Hitchcock.
Mary Louise's brother, Harry, was accidently killed when he was about 12. Her sister, Allean, also died when she was young, about the age of 3.
Mary Louise was married to Albert Edward Cutchin on October 9, 1924. They were the parents of:

About 15 years after Albert's death in 1944, Mary Louise married I.O. Cook, known as Ordell. He was a Freewill Baptist preacher. Their marriage was more out of friendship, as they had been friends and neighbors since early childhood. I.O died a few years later, in the early 1960's.

The service will be at 2 p.m. today at Travelers Rest Freewill Baptist Church in the Carr community in Jackson County, with burial in Rocky Creek Cemetery near Marianna.
A native of Calhoun County, she was a member of Travelers Rest Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Alvie Louise Carnley of Panama City; three sons, Alfred Cutchin of Wewahitchka, Homer Cutchin of Panama City and Lynwood Cutchin of Malone; three brothers, Jimmy Hitchcock and Edward Hitchcock, both of the Carr community, and Herman Hitchcock of Marianna; three sisters, Adie Ruth Jones of Tallahassee, and Ruby Miller and Gladys Newsome, both of the Carr community; 13 grand-children; and 27 great-grandchildren."--3 Dec 1989, Tallahassee (FL) Democrat
