"JOSEPH C. M'ALLISTER DEAD.--Member of Board of Pension Appeals Had Been Ill a Year. Joseph Calvin McAllister, a resident of this city for the past 22 years, died at his residence, 940 K street northwest, Wednesday morning after a year's illness.
Mr. McAllister was born in Perry county, Pa., in 1846. He studied law and practiced at New Bloomfield, Pa., from 1870 to 1893. He served two terms as district attorney, and in 1892 was a Democratic candidate for State senator. In 1893 he moved to this city. He was a member of the board of pension appeals, Department of Labor.
Mr. McAllister was twice married, his first wife being Miss Helen Willis, who died shortly after their marriage. His second wife was Mrs. Julia S. Brock, who survives him. The body was taken to New Bloomfield for interment. Mr. McAllister was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge at Bloomfield. He was 69 years old."

"McALLISTER; In this borough (New Bloomfield), on Sunday moring, December 10th, 1882, Mrs. Helen Rebecca Willis McAllister, aged 23 years, 11 months, and 12 days.

Inexorable Death has invaded another household in our borough and taken away a much loved one, a wife and mother, a devoted daughter and kind sister. The deceased was the wife of J.C. McAllister, Esq., and second daughter of William Willis, Esq., cashier of the Perry County Bank. She was born in Shippensburg, Cumberland County, Pa. December 28th, 1858, but grew to womanhood in this borough, admitted and esteemed by all who knew her. Hemmorrages from the lungs, a few months ago, greatly prostrated her, from which her system failed to rally and gardually growing weaker, at twenty minutes before three o'clock on last Sunday morning her sprirt took its flight to the reagions of the blest, to the land where there is no sadness, no sorrow and no pain. She leaves a little four months old daughter, a devoted husband, affectinate father and mother, brothers and sisters and a large circle of aquaintances to mourn her early depateure hence. The funeral will take place this Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock form the residence of her parents."--18 Dec 1882, Perry (PA) County Democrat

"In the name of God amen. I Dorothy Fritchey being weak in body but sound in mind, considering the uncertainty of this life do make this my Last Will and Testament. First I comment my spirit to hand of God, who gave it and my body to burial in a decent manner, what little God hath blesd me with, my Bed Clothing and apparel I bequeath to my daughters to be equally divided among them, Catherine Carmony Dec. Daughters getting her share, My books I bequeath to those of my children that can read German. I second appoint my well beloved son John G. Fritchey my Executor, to carry out the will of my deceased husband in distributing equally the principal whereof I received the interest among my children according to Godfrey Fritchey dec. last will and testament. The money that I loaned to my different children is to be equally divided among them all, my funeral expenses first being paid. I hereby acknowledge this to be my last will and testament in Witness whereof I set my hand and seal this the Sixth day of October, One thousand Eight Hundred Fifty Three.
