"Theophilus was described by a neighbor as a man of intense feelings who could be "your warmest friend or your bitterest enemy." He was famous for his beehives, and claimed to have brought a hive to Knox County from his former home on the Potomac in Virginia.

His wife Lena survived his death, but died not long afterward as a receipt was found dated November 1849 for her coffin.

Note: given date of birth taken from church records and may be date of baptism--age on tombstone (if correct) would have his birth Jan. 1, 1773 or Dec. 31, 1772."--Find-a-grave
