"Susy Villa and Dennis Hahn, both of Hays, Kan., were married July 26, 2008 by Grand Lake in Point Park. The noon wedding was officiated by the Rev. Stan Jewell, Trinity Church in the Pines in Grand Lake.

Parents of the bride are Severo and Maria Villa of Lakin, Kan. The bride’s grandparents are Isaac and Engracia Barraza Santiago Papasquiaro Durango Codigo, Mexico, Maria de la luz Barraza, Santiago Papasquiaro Durango Codigo, Mexico, and the late Manuel Villa.

Parents of the groom are Ellis and Janice Rewerts of Leoti, Kan. and the late Dallas Hahn, formally of Grand Lake. The groom’s grandparents are the late Harry and Grace Smith and the late August and Laura Hahn.

The matron of honor was Belinda Wille, the bride’s sister from Wichita, Kan. Bridesmaids were Lisa Ruda, sister of the groom from Thornton, Karina Villa, cousin of the bride from Lakin, Kan., and Drina Mohlman, friend of the bride from Hays, Kan.. Junior bridesmaid was Jackie Villa, cousin of the bride from Lakin, Kan.

The best man was Ellis Rewerts, stepfather of the groom from Leoti, Kan.

Groomsmen were Johnny Hamilton, friend of the groom from Hays, Kan., Trenton Weilert, cousin of the groom from Leoti, Kan. and Phillip Weilert, cousin of the groom from Leoti, Kan.

Mya Free was the flower girl, niece of the bride from Lakin, Kan. and Deon Escamilla was ring bearer, cousin on the bride from Lakin, Kan.

Mary Hamilton was the music coordinator, friend of the groom from Hays, Kan. The programs were handed out by Brian Stokes, nephew of the groom from Round Rock, Texas and Lyn Villa, sister-in-law of the bride from Lakin, Kan. Susan and Erich Stokes were the photographers, step-sister and brother-in-law of the groom from Round Rock, Texas.

The bride and her father arrived at the ceremony in a horse drawn carriage. The carriage waited to take the bride and groom to the reception and luncheon at the Columbine Cabins in Grand Lake.

The couple honeymooned in Disney World.

On Aug. 9, 2008, Dennis and Susy along with Susy’s sister Belinda and her husband Jeremy Wille had their Validation at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Garden City, Kan. Following the ceremony there was a reception, dinner and dance at the fair grounds in Lakin, Kan.

The bride graduated from Lakin High School in 2006. She is attending Ft. Hays State University studying Radiology.

The groom graduated from Wichita County High School, Leoti, Kan. in 2002 and Northwest Kansas Technical College in 2004. He is employed with the Brainy Bunch at Nex-Tech in Hays, Kan. while attending Ft. Hays State University. He also is owner of Dennis Hahn DJ Services.

"Leslie Merle Bishop. age 89, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2011 at the Wichita County Long Term Care Unit in Leoti, Kansas. Merle was born December 29, 1921 in rural Wichita County, Kansas the son of Elvin Merrit & Inez Ruth Henry Bishop. A lifetime resident of Wichita County, Kansas, he was a farmer and rancher.

Merle was a veteran of World War Two serving in the United States Army. He was a life member and past Quartermaster of the Leoti V.F.W. as well as a life member of the National Rifle Association, a charter member of the National Rifle Association's Whittington Center Founders Club, a former Hunter Safety Instructor, Past President of the Wichita County Historical Society, a lifetime member of the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association, The Kansas Livestock Association, The Smoky Hills Brigade, and lifetime member of the Sand & Sage Rifle & Pistol Club.

On March 1, 1946 he married Dorothy Maxine Hahn in Leoti, Kansas. Merle's surviving family includes- His wife- Dorothy Bishop- Leoti, Kansas Two sons and their wives- Leslie & Pat Bishop- " Larry & Cheryl Bishop- " Four daughters and their husbands- Janet & Gerald Kasten- Skandia, Michigan Laura & Charles Medina- Leoti, Kansas Barbara & Pat Ryan- Scott City, Kansas Anita & Mike Ellis- " One brother and his wife- Kenneth & Betty Bishop- Leoti, Kansas Twenty grandchildren and Eighteen great grandchildren A sister, LoRee Scott and two grandchildren, Jared Bishop and Victoria Ellis have preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, August 26, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas with the Reverends Mike Howard and Paul McNall officiating. Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas with full Military Honors provided by the United States Army Funeral Honors Detail from Fort Riley, Kansas.

Friends may call from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm Thursday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas.

Memorial may be given to the Wichita County Museum or Leoti EMT's in care of the funeral home. "--Find-a-grave
