"New Post-office to Be Built" --Harrisonburg, Va., January 17--A new brick post-office building: eighty by eighteen feet, and up-to-date in every respect, is to be built at Elkton, Rockingham County. The government has awarded the contract to J. Harry Leebrick. The new building is made necessary by increase in business since the introduction of parcels post."--18 January 1913, Richmond (VA) Times Dispatch.

Was appointed postmaster of the Elkton postoffice on 25 Jul 1916, according to "Appointments of US Postmasters, 1832-1972 volume 80 which covers the years 1891-1930

"LEEBRICK IS CONFIRMED --Will Enter Upon His Duties as Postmaster at Elkton on August 10. HARRISONBURG, VA., July 28 -- J. Harry Leebrick will be the next postmaster at Elkton, Rockingham County. On August 10 he will succeed H. B. C. Gentry, who has held the position sixteen years. Leebrick was appointed by the President, and the appointment has been confirmed by the Senate.
Leebrick has the backing of the organization forces in Rockingham, and he was recommended to the President by Congressman James Hay. He is a son of the late J. E. Leebrick, and has succeeded his father as proprietor of a large merchandise establishment in Elkton." -- Richmond (VA) Times Dispatch 29 July 1916.

"CHARTERS ISSUED. --The following charters were issued yesterday by the State Corporation Commission: ......Leebrick-Kirk Company, Inc., Elkton. Maximum capital stock, $16,000; minimum, $12,000. J. Harry Leebrick, president, Charles B. Kirk, secretary and Hoge Taliaferro, treasurer, all of Elkton. "WANT BYRD TO RUN ON ANTI-BOND PLANK -- Rockingham Democrats Seek Winchester Man for Governorship Race. HARRISONBURG, VA., June 4. Senator Carter Glass was endorsed for the Democratic presidential nomination, and State Senator Harry F. Byrd, of Winchester, was called upon to run for Governor as the antiroad bond candidate in resolutions adopted at the joint convention of Rockingham and Harrisonburg Democrats,, which was called to name the twenty-seven delegates to the Norfolk convention.....The Rockingham delegates to the State convention are: J. "J. H. Leebrick, Bristol Firm Head, Dies. James Harry Leebrick, president of the General Doors Corp. of Bristol, died suddenly at his home at 2 Sweetgum Road, Snowball Gate, Levittown, Tuesday evening. He was 70 years old. Mr. Leebrick was born in Virginia and for the past ten years had lived in the Bristol area from where he directed several business enterprises.
In addition to being the presiding officer of the General Doors Corp., Leebrick also was president of the Mil-Del Corp. of Milford, Del., and served as general manager of the Dor-Set Corp. of Bristol and Bristol Doors of Cincinnati, Ohio.
He had served in the armed forces during World War I.
Leebrick is survived by his wife, several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral services on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. from the funeral home of John C. Black, 314 Cedar St., Bristol. The Rev. Ralph A. Tamacio,, pastor of the Bristol Presbyterian Church, will conduct services. September 19, 1909 Arizona Republican. SCHOOLS ARE CROWDED. The enrollment of the Mesa public schools has nearly approached that of last season's total enrollment and the prospects are that arrangements will have to be made within a short time to commence the preparation for the erection of another building for the accommodation of youngsters. Two additional teachers, Zelma Babbitt and Bessie Leebrick have been employed in addition to those given in the list last Sunday morning as the regular teachers. The old Tithing house has been rented and fitted up for the accommodation of the lower grades....

"Karl and Bessie Leebrick, normal students, were called home several days ago by the serious illness of their father at Mesa, and it is with deep regret that their many friends learn of Mr. Leebrick's death, which occurred at midnight Sunday.
