In 1734 Archibald witnessed the will of his father-in-law, John Gass, Lancaster county, Pa. On 10 June 1787, Archibald Woods acquired land in Goochland, Va. In 1744 Albemarle Co, Va was fromed from Goochland Co, Va. In 1764, Archibald and family moved to Granville Co. SC. Archibald and Isabella had ten or more children between 1744 and 1763. The last child was Joseph who died in 1832.

John Woods had six children who emigrated to America in 1724, possibly shortly after their parents died. At least one other child, possibly a son named after his grandfather Henry, remained in Ireland, probably the heir to his father's lands. This according to W. William Woods.

Settled in Lancaster County in Pennsylvania Colony, but did not own land there during 1724-1734. In 1734, he migrated to Virginia, where he was the first white man to settle in the Piedmont Region.

According to W. William Woods, Robert was the youngest son of James. Robert spent some 10 years in Pennsylvania before removing to Virginia. There he established a large plantation and raised a large family, eventually dying at age 98 and outliving his first three sons.

Likely was a babe in her mother's arms when the Woodses crossed the Atlantic that year. Her father mentions her by name in his will as "my daughter Sarah", and leaves her a small sum of money.

May have been one of Cromwell's troopers from York County, who participated in the invasion of Ireland in 1649, and was granted land in Meath County,Ireland. Seamus Pender's Census of Ireland, circa 1659, lists only one Woods in Meath County, Ireland, a Henry Woods, an Englishman, who was Titulado for Carballies Townland, Templekeran Parish, County Meath, Ireland. This according to W. William Woods.
