"'Penobseot People' is the title of a new play by Adelaide Ober to be produced in New York, early in the spring, by John P. Slocum, manager of the Marguerite Sylva Opera company, and Claxton Wilstach, business manager of the same organization. The story is one of Yankee life and is located in a small milling village on the Penobscot river in Maine. The characters are identified iwth the operation of a cotton mill."--7 Nov 1900, Wilkesp-Barre (PA) Times Leader

Found dead in a hotel in Boston. The medical examiner said death probably was due to natural causes. He was a traveling theatrical manager who was in New York during the winter preceding his death as the press representative of the Punch and Judy Theatre. When it closed, he went to Boston a week before his death to take charge of the exhibition of the film: "The Birth of a Nation." His wafe was a vaudeville actress, known on the stage as Miss Allen. She had been playing in the West. Nancy Wilstach, source of this info, says this fellow probably was regarded as the "black sheep" of his family. In 1885 - 1886 he was living at 87 Concinnati, LaFayette In, according to city directory.

Studied at Purdue University and Seaton Hall. He was an assistant to Will H. Hays in the Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America. He had lived at 320 Manhattan Avenue and was survived by his widow, Edith Hudnall of San Francisco. Frank was the author of "Wilstach's Dictionary of Similes,", "Wild Bill Hickock" and "Prince of Pistoleers," and was a member of the Lambs Club. Business manager for many famous stars, including Wolf Hopper, Viola Allen, William Faversham, Mrs. Leslie Carter, E. H. Southern and Julia Marlowe. Managed individual stars for 27 years (he was with the Shubert organization from 1916-1923 and then became press representative for Sam HJ. Harris (This theatrical period of his life is mentioned by H. L. Mencken in his book Newspaper Days -- He also mentions Paul Wilstach). In 1885-1886, he was living at 87 Cincinnati, LaFayette, In according to city directory.
