Was mentioned in his grandpa Lewis' will as receiving a "childs part" of his grandpa's assets. Wilson was living with his grandparents Bill and Susan Lewis when the 1870 census was taken.

Allen and Albert P. Allen and William H. Lewis, Elizabeth Fidelia Weller and Philip Weller, her husband, Otis C. Lewis, Robert M. Lewis, Carilla B. Coles and Frank Coles, her husband, Wilson Williams, William Hunter and Albert H. Is described in "History of Dauphin County" as the grandfather of William P. Wilstach, who presented the library to Philadelphia. Before emigration to the US, Charles was a sail cloth weaver. He left London on the ship "Free Mason" between June 14 and 21, 1774 to seek new employment there. He took the Oath of Affirmation of Allegiance to the state of Pennsylvania on October 9, 1786. He was described as being a shopkeeper in Philadelphia.

Occupation in 1790 given as shop keeper. Lists one male 16 or older, one male under 16 and four females.

Charles appears in Philadelphia directories in 1791, 1793, 1796, 1800, 1804, 1805 and 1808 as a shop keeper or store keeper. The directories say that this term refers to a dry goods store. His address in the first 3 directories is given as 85 North Second Street, and the remaining directories give the address as 178 North Second. Upon his death, the address changes to 190 North Second Street and his wife Hannah continues to run the business.
