Bernard emigrated to Philadelphia on the Ship "Elizabeth" which docked on 30 October 1738. He settled near his brother Conrad who had arrived before May 1737, in New Hanover Twp., Montgomery County, Pa. Bernard and his son Marx were naturalized in Lynn Twp on 8 September 1762.

Son John Jacob was christened at New Goshenhoppen Church, Upper Hanover Twp, Montgomery Co, Pa in 1745. In 1752, appears on tax list in Colebrookdale Twp, Berks Co, Pa, just a few miles away. Also appears on 1758 tax list there. 1760 appears on Lynn Twp, Northampton Co, Pa, also 1766.

A number of Wannemachers immigrated in 1738, others in 1749. Catharine must have been in the latter group, if she was born in Switzerland, as the source reports.

Named in Caspar's will, to receive the "Stone Spring House, and a choice of a garden, which I give and devise unto my beloved wife Catharine during her Natural Life Together with a sufficiency of Fire wood cut and delivered to the door, and her Garden sufficient mannered with and planted to her satisfaction by my son John Bucher".
