An extensive biography of Rev. Tarvin appears on the web site of the cited source. In summary, George was a minister in the Church of the Brethern, or Dunkards or Dunkers, as they were known then. His parents were prominent land owners in the area. Rev Tarvin's name appears numerous times as having married members of his congregation as well as neighbors in Md/Va. His move to Ky was probably in 1794. 12 of their 13 children were still living at the time. They settled in Maysville (present day Limestone) Ky. They lived there for six years. by 1801, the family had moved to Fleming Co, Ky. His wife died during this time, and he married Mary Gardner Wood, who was with him the remaining six years of his life. They had no children. He died as a result of a grist mill accident that he suffered in Augusta, Bracken Co, some time previously. His wife Mary received $12.29 after all bills were paid.
