In her sister's will (Betsy C Bayard) of 15 June 1873, she was given half of her sister's estate. (Paulding County Will Records, Vol 1-2, 1852-1903, pp 306-9) This will identified several siblings, including Warren, Jane, Mary J, Emmie and Sarah and two nephews, William A Gordon and Albert S Gordon.

"Mrs. Lucinda Gordon died, at her home about 3 miles east of town, Wednesday morning, aged about 70 years. Her death was very sudden, she having just arisen from bed, and dressed herself, when she was taken with a choking spell and died in a few minutes. Funeral at her late home, Friday at 2 o'clock p.m., after which her remains were laid at rest beside those of her husband, George Gordon, who preceded her several years, in the T. J. CHESAPEAKE - Virginia Simpson Leebrick went to be with the Lord July 18, 2007. Born Sept. 14, 1931, in Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Earl R. Simpson Sr., Willie E. Simpson and Edith Simpson. Mrs. Leebrick was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and T.O.P.S in Chesapeake.
Virginia is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Calvin Leebrick of Chesapeake; three children, Rick Leebrick and wife Bonnie of Chesapeake, Ray Leebrick and wife Rosa of Alexandria, Va., and Debbie Hanson of Norfolk; four grandchildren, Joy and husband Dan, Rick Jr. and wife Michelle, Virginia "Ginny" and husband Justin and Emilee; great-grandson, Ricky; brother, Earl Simpson and wife Helen of Lynchburg, Va.; and sister, Edith Simpson Moore of Chesapeake.
The family will receive friends at the Leebrick home today from 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Rosewood Memorial Park with Pastor Finley O. Jones officiating. Arrangements by Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vann Scholarship Fund for St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 437 W. Providence Road, Chesapeake, VA 23325 or to the Diabetes Institute Foundation, 855 W. Brambleton Ave., Norfolk, VA 23510.
