Chester R. Rowe worked at Moore's Shoe Store and was part owner due to the business changing hands as described below from the book " Exeter New Hampshire 1888 - 1988". Fred A. Moore, ninety-four years old, died on March 16, 1975. He began his business career as a clerk in John M. Mactaggart's shoe store, and continured in like businesses until 1918, when he and Herbert L. Seekins purchased Thomas Smith's shoe business, forming the partnership of Moore and Seekins. Mr. Seekins died in 1936, and it then became Moore's Shoe Store. When Mr. Moore retireed in January 1956 he sold the store to his two clerks, Chauncey M. Mayo and Chester R. Rowe.

Willard I. Rowe retired as a high school teacher in June 1958 at the mandatory age of seventy. He had begun his teaching career in 1911 and served as principal from 1921 to 1942. A testimonial banquet with Theodore Kucharski as toastmaster was held June 3rd at the Talbot Gymnasium. That evening Ronald Scully was named the winner of a scholarship established in Mr. Rowe's name. The retiring teacher had also served a public library trustee for fifty-four years and as its treasurer for forty-five years when he retired in 1967. He died on January 27, 1979, at the age of ninety-one.
