Described in his father-in-law's obit.

"James Francis Reel, 89, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, after a brief illness. He was born on June 27, 1918, in Miltonvale, KS, to the late James Edward Reel and Rosa Blochlinger Reel. He was the oldest of eight brothers and sisters: Norbert, Joseph, Raymond, Francis, Marguerite, Regis and Pauline. He also had five half-brothers and sisters: John, Edwin, Patricia, Marcelline and Geraldine. He attended elementary and high school in Miltonvale, Kansas and Fort Hays State University in Kansas. He married Helen Louise Hartzell, also of Sedan, Kansas, in 1940. Together, they had three children: James Michael Reel, Harold Anthony Reel, and Stephen E. Reel, all born in Illinois. James' career began and ended in the oil and gas industry in Illinois, Kansas and Oklahoma. He was a successful sales manager for several supply and manufacturing companies. During this time, he was also a store manager for Sears Roebuck in Muskogee, Bartlesville and Tulsa for nearly 13 years. He was a faithful member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for over forty years. After his retirement in 1988, he was active in the Meals on Wheels program in Tulsa and sang in the Village Choir for ten years, entertaining those in nursing homes and retirement communities around the Tulsa area. He was an active member of the Tulsa Organ Music Club for 10 years and loved attending theater organ concerts. He and Helen moved to Oklahoma City in 2005 to be near their two sons. He was an ardent fan of the Tulsa Golden Hurricane and loved to attend their football and basketball games, as well as the basketball games of Oral Roberts University. After his sons graduated from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, his passion for college sports expanded to include the Cowboys, except for those times the Golden Hurricane and the Cowboys collided on the athletic fields and courts. He was proud of his Irish heritage and enjoyed tracing his family genealogy through Kansas, Illinois and across the ocean to County Armagh. Although, he never made a trip back to the motherland, he delighted in seeing pictures of the family farm and listening to the stories of the Reel families who still reside in the Dorsey and Creggan areas. He is survived by his three sons and faithful and devoted wife, Helen daughters-in-law Susie Reel, Joyce Reel and Mignon Reel. He has six grandchildren, Michael Reel, Stephanie Reel, Sarah Reel, John Reel, Vanessa Reel Less and Jennifer Livingston and three great- grandchildren, Danika and Dalton Less and Addison Livingston. In lieu of flowers, the family members request that memorials be sent to: Hospice of Oklahoma County, Inc, 4334 N.W, Expressway, Suite 106, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73116-1515. The family is especially appreciative of the loving care provided by Loy Bowman and Vicki Negley, both of Hospice of Oklahoma County. An Evening Prayer Service will be 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 30, 2008, at Smith & Kernke Chapel, 14624 N. May Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2008, at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 2400 W. Hefner Road.
