Liebrick cemetery located on Keys Church Road (Route 722), about 1 mile south of intersection with Route #56, midway as the crow flies between Shipman, Virginia and Norwood, Virginia. Her small marble gravestone was still readable in 1937, as follows: Sacred to the memory of

PIERSON, David, farmer, Sec. 36; P. O. Burlington; a resident of Des Moines Co. for over forty-three years; his parents removed to Ohio Co., Va., while he was a boy. They left for this county Sept. 1, 1835, journeyed through woodland and over wild prairies in wagons, and arrived in Burlington, then a small village, Sept. 25 - thus became one of the pioneer families of this county; they have two children: Samuel J. and John Q. A. Samuel enlisted in Co. K, 25th I. V. Regt.; was wounded at the battle of Arkansas Post, honorably discharged and returned home. Married Elizabeth Nugent; have four children: David A., Nancy J., Mary and James Franklin. John Q. A. was also in the army; honorably discharged. He married Mary Whittaker; they have two children: Gracie and Charles. Though raised in a slave state, Mr. Pierson has always been opposed to slavery; was a staunch Whig; on the decline of that party he became a Republican; Mr. Pierson and family are members of the M. E. Church. He has always been active in every enterprise which gave promise of general good; he owns a large farm, well improved, and enjoys all the comforts of home life. His sons Samuel and John, own and manage a farm of 500 acres in Henry Co., in which county they reside.

A native of Pennsylvania and of Dutch descent.
"TOWN WOMAN DIES SUDDENLY -- Mrs. Olive E. Hartzell Succumbs to Acute Indigestion. -- Mrs. Olive E. Hartzell, widow of J. T. Hartzell, died suddenly Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from acute indigestion at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Harry Thomas, 360 York street. She was aged 71 years, 8 months and 17 days. Mrss. Hartzell had been suffering from an infected limb, but her condition was improving rapidly. She ate a hearty meal at noon and seemed to be in the best of health. She was stricken at 2 o'clock and died a half hour later.
Mrs. Hartzell was born in Gettysburg and lived in and about town all her life. Mr. Hartzell died nine years ago. She was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church here.
She is survived by six sons and two daughters as follows: John Hartzell, Chambersburg; Mahlon, Charles and Howard Hartzell and Mrs. Harry Thomas, all of Gettysburg; William Hartzell, of Cumberland township; Samuel Hartzell, of Fairmont, West Virginia,, and Mrs. Luther Sachs, of Waynesboro.
Funeral Sundat afternoon meeting at the hours of Mrs. Thomas, York street, at 2 o'clock, Rev. J. B. Baker officiating. Interment in Evergreen cemetery."--19 May 1922, The Gettysburg (PA) Times
