"TWO NEW BOYS. There were two new arrivals on the south side yesterday morning at about the same time and both were boys. The Spainhower family is the home of one of them and though this is not the first occurence of the kind in that household, Mr Spainhower wore a smile yesterday that would give one the impression that that was the first addition to his family. The young man is not the regulation size and weight, however--he is larger.
Zeb Pierce is the father of the other young gentleman and he really is the first to visit their home. Mr. Pierce is a graduate of the normal school and Mrs. Pierce, formerly Miss Rachel Leebrick, was also a student there until her marriage. Probably in the course of a few years Mr. Pierce Jr. will also attend the institution."--25 Feb 1905, (Phoenix) Arizona Republic
