He was one of four Noblet brothers, where emigrated from the north of Ireland and settled in Delaware. Joseph, separated from the others and came to Dauphin county, and entered a tract of land in Halifax township. He reared a family of seven sons, of whom Samuel was teh youngest.

Newton E. was educated in the schools of Halifax and was a teacher in the borough and township for seventeen years. In 1889 he was appointed postmaster of Halifax, and served in the office four years and four months. He was one of the organizers of the Halifax Shoe and Manufacturing Company, in which he has been the treasurer since Mr. Lodge vacated the office. He served six years as a member of the school board, and for four years as the secretary of the board. In his political views he is a Republican, and in 1895 was appointed clerk of the board of county commissioners. Mr. Noblet is a stockholder in the Halifax Ban, of which his father was one of the organizers. He is a member and trustee of the Halifax Lodge, P. P. S. of A. The family attends the Methodist Episcopal church of Halifax.

An early settler of Halifax township. He was a cabinet maker by trade, and also an undertaker. He was a member of the first council of the borough (of Halifax), voting with the Democratic party until the organization of the Republican party, when he united with that political body. Boith he and his wife were members of the Methodist Episcopal church.

THOMAS L. NOBLET -- Thomas L. Noblet, 68, of New Buffalo, died Saturday in a Harrisburg hospital.
Mr. Noblet was a veteran of the World War I, serving with the 79th Division in France, a member of the American Legion and I.O.O.F. of Duncannon, and a member of the New Buffalo Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Cordelia Bowman Noblet; two brothers, Waite, of New Buffalo, and Guy, of Rutherford Heights.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Nickel Funeral Home, 403 Market Street, Duncannon, with the Rev. Charles Ramp, his pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Hill Church Cemetery."--30 Sep 1955, Duncannon (PA) Record
