Nothing is known of Wilhelmine's childhood or even the date of her marriage. Four of the older children, John and his wife and small son Paul, and sisters Emma, Anna, and Elise came to America in 1892. (Originally thought to be 1891, but I have Elise's Confirmation certificate which states she was confirmed April 10, 1892 in Germany.)

They left Germany in late April or May of 1892, and settled in Wisner, NE as they had relatives living there. One son, Franz Ferdinand, was of military age and not allowed to leave Germany. Wilhelmine and the three younger children, Martha, and the twin boys Richard and Ernst, came to America 2 years later (1894) on the Ship "America" and landed at Baltimore, MD. From there, they traveled overland to Nebraska stopping on the way to visit a sister of Wilhelmine, Henrietta, who lived in Missouri Vally, Iowa.

Aftre living in Nebraska for several years, Wilhelmine and her children Martha, Richard, and Ernst, moved to Western Kansas in 1901 and each homsteaded a quarter section of land in the southern part of Wichita County.
