Renee was one of the original sisters of the Epsilon Pi chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma, founded at Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC, on February 9th, 1990. Epsilon Pi had 53 original sisters. The colonization was made memorable because Hurricane Hugo hit the South Carolina coast the same weekend. However, the hurricane did not dampen the interest in Sigma. The original local symbol was the bunny. In 2000, the chapter voted to retire the bunny and make the butterfly our chapter symbol.
Epsilon Pi girls enjoy some local traditions, which include activities such as going to Newberry, SC, to paint "the rock" or giving "Purple Foot" awards to girls who have recently done something funny. One of our favorite traditions is holding a candlelighting for a sister. This celebration occurs when active members or returning alumni are lavaliered, pinned, engaged, married, or pregnant.
