Taught school in district 54 (1935-37), district 34 (1937-38), district 68 (1938-1940), district 75 (1940-41), district 70 (1941-42), district 28 (1943-44), and district 18 (1944-1946).

"OBITUARY Maxine Leebrick Howard, daughter of Charles and Minta (Lewis) Leebrick was born in rural Rawlins County Aug. 17, 1917 and died Dec. 6, 1989 at Presbyterian Hospital in Denver at the age of 72 years. She accepted Christ at an early age and remained faithful throughout life. She was a longtime member of the Federated Church of McDonald.

She spent several years teaching in Rawlins County schools and also worked for a time as a secretary in Denver, Colo.

On Nov. 22, 1946 she was united in marriage to John F. Howard of McDonald. To this union two children were born, Douglas Howard of McDonald and Judy Ketterl of Herndon, Kan.

Maxine enjoyed her Bible Study Group, teaching Sunday school classes, working with Junior Choir and counseling at Bible Camp. She also enjoyed gardening and had a love for the great outdoors.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, who died in infancy; and a step-daughter, Elaine Howard Hoover.

Survivors include her husband, John; daughter, Judy Ketterl and husband, Dave of Herndon; son, Douglas Howard and wife, Rita of McDonald; four grandchildren, Sarah Beth and Adam Ketterl and Michael and Kellen Howard; two sisters, Lucille Denny and Irene Kisling, her twin, a brother, Wilbur Leebrick, step-daughter, Joan Howard Lortscher and husband, Don of National City, Calif., and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 1989 at the Federated Church in McDonald, Kan., with Rev. Greg Moyer and Rev. Clarence Swihart officiating. Casket bearers included Arlie Archer, Lynn Officer, Dan Hubbard, Owen Wingfield, Dave Hubbard and Jerry Knapp. The interment was at the Grace Cemetery at McDonald, Kan. Memorials may be addressed to the Federated Church, McDonald. Arrangements were by Williams Funeral Home, Inc., Atwood, Kan."--21 Dec 1989, The (Atwood, KS) Citizen Patriot

Health Financing Specialist

Meradith is responsible for analyzing the processes and investments involved in implementing our regional growth strategy. Her work focuses on supporting Member Associations in the design of sustainable business plans that will support service growth.

Meradith came to IPPF/WHR with six years of management experience in the NGO and private sectors in Costa Rica, where she co-founded and directed Abriendo Mentes, a nonprofit that works to address economic and educational disparities in Guanacaste. Meradith also worked as a Business Analyst with the Grameen Foundation, designing financial models to support the development of mobile agriculture projects in rural Africa. She is passionate about utilizing her analytical skills to contribute to social initiatives that realize a global impact.

Meradith holds a Master of Business Administration from the George Washington University, where she was a Global Fellows Scholar, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Michael De-Wayne "Tank" Leebrick, 39, lifelong resident of Muskogee, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was born October 10, 1971 in Lawton, Oklahoma to James Raymond Leebrick and Deborah Ann (Thomas) Leebrick. Mike graduated from Muskogee High School where he played football for the Roughers his junior and senior years. Later, he did some pro-wrestling. He worked as a truck driver. Mike enjoyed raising his children and it was a joy for him to teach and take care of them. He loved fishing and teaching children how to fish. He will be missed by all who knew him. Mike was preceded in death by his father, James Raymond "Go-Cart" Leebrick. He is survived by his wife, Amber, daughters, Brittani and Brianna all of the home; mother, Deborah Battenfield of Braggs; Dad, Herb Battenfield of Braggs; sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Bill Birdtail of Tahlequah; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Millie Leebrick and Ted and Brenda Battenfield, all of Muskogee; brother, Tim Battenfiled of Muskogee and brothers and sisters-in-law, Eddy and Judy Battenfield of Braggs and John and Misty Prado of Muskogee. Other survivors include aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2011 at United Pentecostal Church. Interment will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
