Was drafted together with his brother Henry into the army service as soon as they were old enough. Ferdinand was the tallest of the brothers, and the cleverest. Had a deep baritone voice as well as a fine education, and was a commanding officer in the King's Guard. He could write with both hands and hold a conversation at the same time, all on different subjects. His capability made him almost indispensable in the army.

The estate of Eberhard Cryling of Upper Milford Township was probated in 1769. Catherine Cryling was the executor. Orphan's court, File number 495. This info from Bob Vatilla. Bob also finds that Edward and Sabina were sponsors of two baptisms at Dryland in 1763. He is the source of the children's names.
