Transcribed copy of Last Will and Testament of Samuel Gordon, taken from a photocopy of original in Probate Court of Paulding county, Ohio: I Samuel Gordon of Crane Township, Paulding County, State of Ohio, do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament.

Item 1. I desire that all my just debts be paid out of my personal estate.

Item 2. I give and devise to my son John Gordon, now insane, for and during his natural life, the following real estate, all the land I now own in section No. nine, in township three north, of range no. two east, containing fifty seven acres more or less.

Also, the East half of the Northeast quarter of section No. sixteen in township No. three north, of range No two east, containing 80 acres.

Item 3. I hereby appoint my son Coe Gordon trustee of my said son John Gordon and authorize him to take immediate posession s___ of the lands herein devised after my decease, and to account to the probate court of said county, for said trust and all things and ____ I owe ___ it ____ once ____ years, and to give and file in proper place for said trust in said probate court.

Item 4. All the rest and residual of my estate, including revisions and remianders, I give and devise,in equal shares to my children Coe Gordon, William Gordon, Sarah Landis and the heirs of Harriet Robertson, deceased.

Item 5. I hearby appoint John Landis executor of this my Last Will and Testament, and authorize him to settle all and ____ ____ due to and from my estate.

I hereby revoke all former wills by me made.

Obituary dated 16 Jan 1873. The Plain Dealer. "Death of Pioneer-Samuel Gordon died at his residence in Crane Township, Paulding County, last Saturday. Mr. Gordon came on to the river in 1828, and has ever since resided on the farm which he opened up. He was a good citizen, and did his duty manfully in the early days of privation and hardship, he lived to enjoy in his old day the fruit of his labors in affluence."

Paulding county, OH death records Vol 1 indicate that he was widowed at the time of his death.
From Jan 16, 1873 "The Plain Dealer": Death Of Pioneer - Samuel Gordon died at his residence, in Crane township, Paulding county, last Saturday. Mr. Gordon came on to the river in 1828, and has ever since resided on the farm which he opened up.
